regulation of the industry

The collection industry is regulated under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act as well as the California Rosenthal Act (CA. Civil Code 1788).

The Federal Trade Commission is the regulatory enforcement agency. All members of the California Association of Collectors must abide by a strict Code of Ethics which illustrates our commitment to the highest professional standards.
